Shanghai/Los Angeles. Just before the 2021 LA Auto Show, Porsche presents the brand’s largest world premiere ever, launching several ground-breaking driver’s cars. Porsche's belief in creating the ultimate sports car has always appealed to both the sensibilities and the senses of enthusiasts. With these new technological innovations, the pure sports car manufacturer is once again making an outstanding offer to all who possess an unbridled passion for driving – be it on the road or the race track. The new mid-engine flagship 718 Cayman GT4 RS is the first 718 to carry the RS badge. Larger downforce, stronger power output and optimised weight contribute to this uncompromising driving machine. The 718 Cayman GT4 RS is now available for order in China at a price of RMB 1,578,000, with VAT included.

The racing version 718 Cayman GT4 RS Clubsport celebrates its world premiere at the same time. With the upgraded performance, the vehicle is homologated track-ready ex factory, offering the customer driver even more thrills on the race track. The new 718 Cayman GT4 RS Clubsport is available to order starting today from the newly established Porsche Motorsport Asia Pacific Ltd, and will be deliveried from early 2022 in the Shanghai Jiading Comprehensive Bonded Zone, at a price of RMB 1,710,254.

The Taycan GTS is also unveiled as the newest member of Porsche’s all electric sports car family. The typical GTS style tuning makes the new car a sporty athlete and a strong complement to the Taycan 4S and Taycan Turbo. The Panoramic roof with Sunshine Control is first in the automotive sector, ensuring its everyday usability. The Taycan GTS will enter the Chinese market in 2022.

The new mid-engine sports car flagship: 718 Cayman GT4 RS

As the first 718 to carry the RS badge, the new flagship of its family, the 718 Cayman GT4 RS, is designed for maximum driving pleasure. Compared to the 718 Cayman GT4, the new RS car achieves breakthroughs in terms of performance, lightweight construction and driving dynamics. The powerful drivetrain is the key to its upgraded performance. The naturally aspirated flat-six engine, familiar from the 911 GT3 series, manages engine revs as high as 9,000 rpm. The power output is 368 kW (500 PS). Maximum torque has been increased to 450 Nm. With the fast-shifting seven-speed Porsche dual clutch transmission (PDK) system, the 718 Cayman GT4 RS now sprints from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.4 seconds and has a top speed of 315 km/h.

The lightweight construction, extremely agile chassis set-up and sophisticated aerodynamics impress thanks to its racecar-like handling. In typical RS style, special materials such as the carbon fibre reinforced plastic (CFRP), lightweight door panels and lightweight glass have been applied on the 718 Cayman GT4 RS to achieve dramatic weight reduction. The two-seater weighs only 1,415 kilograms, with a full fuel tank and without a driver. Full bucket seats are standard to offer better support to the driver. The adjustable chassis adapted for the racetrack has an RS-specific shock absorber set-up as well as modified spring and anti-roll bar rates, ready to unleash its maximum performance. Numerous aerodynamically optimised components include the distinctive rear-wing derived from the Porsche 911 RSR GT racing car, contributing to its unique identity and a higher downforce by 60 percent.

The optional Weissach package takes the dynamic design of the GT4 RS even further. The front luggage-compartment lid, process air intakes, cooling air intakes, air-box cover, exterior mirror upper trims and rear wing have a carbon-weave finish. The titanium tailpipes look similar to the exhaust system on the Porsche 935. The fitted roll cage at the rear is also made of titanium. The upper section of the dashboard is upholstered in Race-Tex material and a large Porsche logo is integrated into the rear window. The Weissach package also includes 20-inch forged aluminium wheels, while forged magnesium wheels can be ordered at additional cost.

The new racetrack conqueror at the GT4 level: 718 Cayman GT4 RS Clubsport

Based on the road car, The 718 Cayman GT4 RS Clubsport now offers more power than the 718 Cayman GT4 Clubsport and can achieve lap times that are over two percent quicker than the previous model. The most significant change is the 4.0 litre six-cylinder boxer engine taken directly from the 911 GT3 Cup race car, developing 368 kW(500 PS)and max. torque 465 Nm at 6,000 rpm. Due to a much wider usable speed band, it makes driving the car much easier for pro-racers and amateur drivers alike. The standard seven-speed dual-clutch transmission (PDK) systemfitted to the car now uses all seven forward gears, rather than six. All gears feature shorter ratios than in the previous model.

The optimised performance and drivability also benefit from the modification to the chassis and aerodynamics. The damper technology has been revised from the ground up, with the Porsche Stability Management System (PSM) designed specifically for motorsports, in order to achieve an optimised vehicle responsiveness and a further improvement in body control. The aerodynamics inspired by the 911 GT3 R ensure that the precise and controllable handling of the 718 Cayman GT4 RS Clubsport remains well-balanced even in fast curves. The swan neck rear wing has now been given a 20 millimetre long Gurney flap and an adjustment range extended by two additional stages.

The homologated vehicle is track-ready ex factory and can be used in SRO racing series around the world without further modifications. Additionally, Porsche offers two different exhaust systems, allowing the GT4 RS Clubsport to compete at tracks with stricter noise limits.

The all-electric sports car powered by legends: Taycan GTS

Positioned between the Taycan 4S and the Taycan Turbo, the Taycan GTS is now the fifth all-electric sports car offering from Porsche. The Taycan GTS has two electric motors: one for the front axle and one for the rear, which are the same units used in the Taycan Turbo models but are specifically adapted to the GTS. When Launch Control is activated, the GTS has a power overboost of up to 440 kW (598 PS). The sprint from zero to 100 km/h can be achieved in both variants within 3.7 seconds. The maximum speed of the two cars is 250 km/h. Thanks to a particularly efficient drive strategy for the new model year, The standard Performance Battery Plus with a total capacity of 93.4 kWh enables a range of up to 504 km, based on WLTP figures of the model with European standard equipment, making the new sports model the first Taycan to break the 500 km mark. The maximum recuperation output is 275 kW, further contributing to energy efficiency.

The Taycan GTS is very recognisable both visually and aurally. Numerous black or dark details are included on the exterior. The standard 20-inch Taycan Turbo S Aero Design wheels are painted in Satin Black. Numerous Black Race-Tex features underscore the elegant, dynamic ambience, as does the standard brushed aluminum interior package with its black anodised finish. The richer sound pattern of the modified Porsche Electric Sport Sound underscores the character of the new GTS model.

The new panoramic roof with Sunshine Control features intelligent electric glare protection as a special feature. Unique in the automotive sector, the large glass surface is divided into nine sections that can be individually controlled. This means there is the option to not only turn the entire roof transparent or opaque, but also individual segments or patterns. Four settings are now available: Clear, Matt, Semi and Bold. As glare is prevented by the Sunshine Control function, this new technology barely reduces brightness. The roof appears significantly brighter than the basic alternative. Twice as much light enters the interior. The protection against heat radiation is also better. It even has a dynamic Roller Blind setting, which activates a switching sequence in the individual segments when the Taycan driver slides their finger over a representation of the roof in the display.
