Porsche (China) Motors Limited recalls part of 2015 Porsche 918 Spyder models
Commencing from 25 June 2018, according to the “Administrative Regulations on Recalls of Defective Automobile Products" and the “Implementation Measurements of Administrative Regulations on Recalls of Defective Automobile Products”, Porsche (China) Motors Limited will recall all Porsche 918 Spyder models produced from 23 June 2014 to 24 November 2014. The recall was filed by Porsche China to the State Administration for Market Regulation and will affect a total of 30 units in Mainland China.
The recall is related to the connecting shaft of longitudinal and lateral control arms which may be susceptible to stress corrosion, leading to an increased likelihood of components cracking. Under extreme conditions, such as driving on a racetrack, the control of vehicles may be affected and could increase safety hazards.
Upon the recall taking effect, Porsche China will commission all authorized service centers across the country to proactively contact the owners of the Porsche 918 Spyder via registered mail and replace involved components of recalled vehicles for free. In the interest of safety, affected customers of the Porsche 918 Spyder are advised to avoid any racetrack activities until the recall is completed.
Affected users may visit the Porsche China website at http://www.porsche.com/china, and call the toll-free customer service hotline on 400 820 5911 or an authorized Porsche dealer for further details regarding the recall. Users can also visit SAMR Defective Product Administrative Center website(www.dpac.gov.cn)or follow WeChat account (SAMRDPAC)for more information. For any problem during the recall or other clues of defective products, users are encouraged to contact the SAMR Defective Product Administrative Center hotline on 010-59799616.
